Apple Pie Bundles

Remember that bit of pie dough that I had you save? It probably ended up being a ball about the size of your fist right? We're going to use that to make these apple pie bundles that we're having for breakfast.

You need:

  • Pie dough
  • An apple
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
Optional: Raisins, nuts, a sprinkle of ginger powder

Begin by cutting your ball of dough in half and rolling each piece into a roundish shape, it might be a bit hard to roll because it's already been worked with once but if you didn't use too much flour it should work fine. Roll them as thin as you can.

Now peel and thinly slice your apple into a bowl, add the sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch and stir it around until all the apple is coated. Scoop the coated apple mix into the middle of your rolled out dough. Pull up the edges of the dough so it resembles a pouch and pinch the top closed. If it's not staying closed you can wet your fingers a bit and pinch the dough together and it should stick.

Now it's ready to bake! I added a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top before I baked mine because I think it looks nicer.

Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
